Quick answer
GTA 6 has two playable main characters: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. You can switch between them, and their story together is at the centre of the game. {{st:official}}
Rockstar has also profiled six supporting characters: Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, the Real Dimez (Bae-Luxe and Roxy), Raul Bautista and Brian Heder. Rockstar has not confirmed any voice actors. Names such as Manni L. Perez for Lucia are fan identifications. {{st:unknown}}
GTA 6 is the first Grand Theft Auto with two leads who are a couple, and the first to have a woman as a main playable character since the series went 3D. This page lists every character Rockstar has officially introduced, sums up what each profile says, and separates the official material from fan theories and casting rumours. It sits alongside our {{link:gta-6-map|GTA 6 map guide}}, since most characters are tied to one part of Leonida.

These eight profiles come from Rockstar's official Grand Theft Auto VI website, published around Trailer 2 in May 2025. The descriptions below are our summaries, not Rockstar's wording.
Jason Duval
Jason grew up around grifters and con artists, joined the Army to get away from that life, and ended up back in it anyway. When the game starts he is working for local drug runners in the Leonida Keys and looking for an easier way out. He lives at one of Brian Heder's properties, rent free, in exchange for helping with Brian's business. Trailer 2 shows his relationship with Lucia as the turning point in his story. {{st:official}}
Lucia Caminos
Lucia was taught to fight from an early age, and the first trailer opens with her in a Leonida prison. Rockstar's profile says she ended up there trying to protect her family, and that she now wants the better life her mother hoped for. Out of prison, she is determined not to go back. She was the first character revealed, in Trailer 1 in December 2023. {{st:official}}
Jason and Lucia are partners in crime and in their relationship, and the trailers lean on comparisons to Bonnie and Clyde. How their story ends is, naturally, not known. {{st:unknown}}
The supporting cast
- Cal Hampton: Jason's friend and another of Brian's associates. He prefers staying home, distrusts almost everyone, and listens in on Coast Guard communications. Expect comic relief.
- Boobie Ike: a Vice City local legend who turned money from the streets into legitimate businesses, including real estate, a strip club and a recording studio.
- Dre'Quan Priest: a former dealer who wants to make it in music. He runs Only Raw Records with Boobie and signed the Real Dimez.
- Real Dimez: Bae-Luxe and Roxy, friends since high school, who built a following through rap and social media before signing to Only Raw.
- Raul Bautista: a confident, experienced bank robber who looks for people willing to take big risks. His appetite for danger is what makes him a liability.
- Brian Heder: an old-school smuggler in the Keys who runs a boat yard with his wife, Lori, and lets Jason live at one of his places in return for help.
All six are {{st:official}} profiles. Their exact role in missions has not been detailed.
Did the Extended Look add new characters?
The roughly 26-minute "Extended Look" that premiered on Netflix on 27 August 2026 showed long stretches of gameplay with Jason and Lucia, and featured Brian and Cal on screen. Coverage of the video did not report any new named character profiles. Rockstar has not added to the eight official profiles since. {{st:reported}} See {{link:gta-6-trailers|every GTA 6 trailer}} for what each video showed.
