The Privacy Paradox in KYC
KYC requires collecting sensitive documents. But collecting PII creates breach liability.
ZK-KYC proves identity attributes (age, residence, sanctions status) using zero-knowledge proofs — without transmitting or storing the underlying documents.
The verifier learns: 'this person is over 18 and not on OFAC.' The verifier does NOT learn: name, DOB, address, SSN.
