ADT's new Blu smart home security lineup features a hub with Wi-Fi, cellular, Bluetooth, and Z-Wave radios, supporting integrations for Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT applets.
The central unit has an 18-button keypad, supports Wi-Fi, cellular, Bluetooth and local area network connectivity, and has a 24-hour battery backup and a built-in speaker. The system works with Alexa, Google Assistant and IFTTT automations, but does not support Apple HomeKit or Matter.
The door and window sensors run on batteries that last up to two years. The motion sensor ignores pets weighing less than 85 pounds. The company offers additional equipment, such as an indoor and outdoor camera, a doorbell camera, an indoor siren, smoke detectors, a smart lock and a thermostat.
Subscriptions and control
The system is controlled via a mobile app or web portal, offering a seven-day trial upon initial setup. Users can choose between two monthly subscriptions. The basic option costs $14,99 per month and includes app access, remote control, live video viewing, smart detection and a 30-day event history. The more comprehensive option costs $34,99 per month and adds 24-hour professional monitoring.
