Anthropic announced Claude Duet, an AI assistant powered by Claude Opus 5.5 for professionals and small businesses.
Available in preview on iOS, Android, and web, Duet integrates with external apps and services to deliver daily briefings and execute approved tasks.
How the new assistant works
Claude Duet connects to selected apps that the user approves and sends a summary update every morning with the day's tasks. Once approved, the assistant can perform a variety of tasks, from simple procedures such as scheduling a meeting to more complex actions such as creating web applications.
Using plugins and links, Anthropic says the assistant can manage messages in services like Gmail and Slack. It can also write and post job postings on LinkedIn, handle payroll through Gusto, manage stores on Shopify, and make purchases using Stripe Link.
Sensitive data protection
To protect personal information, Anthropic announced that it has created a new control system that examines messages to prevent any leaks. According to the company, the system automatically rejects requests to share credit card numbers and official identification documents. Other sensitive information, such as health or personal financial information, is only allowed to be sent when the user has given an explicit instruction.

Competition and availability
Personal AI assistants are the new arena of competition among companies in the space. Claude Duet was introduced shortly after the appearance of Muse from Meta and Dots from OpenAI. The key difference between these assistants is their proactive approach, as they do not simply wait for the user's instructions, but take initiatives.
In this testing phase, Claude Duet is available exclusively to those with subscriptions to Anthropic's Pro and Max plans, which cost $20 and $100 per month respectively. Interested users must sign up for a waiting list to gain access.
