Apple unveiled the 2026 iMac powered by the 2nm M6 chip, featuring a Dual Neural Engine with 32 AI cores, doubled SSD speeds, and Wi-Fi 7 support via the N1 coprocessor, starting at $1,499 with the same 24-inch form factor.
The changes inside
The real differences lie in the internals of the computer. The new iMac features the M6 processor, which is built on 2-nanometer technology. The base model includes a 10-core version of the processor, while a 12-core option is available for an additional $200. Both versions have twice the number of cores for artificial intelligence functions.
The base model includes 16GB of memory and 256GB of storage, with twice the read and write speeds, and can be upgraded to 32GB and 1TB respectively. The computer also includes a new wireless system that supports faster internet connections and Bluetooth.
Who does the upgrade concern?
According to editor Joe Osborne, buying the new model isn't worth it for those who already own a recent computer from the company. However, the change is important for those still using older models with Intel processors.
