Apple introduces Home Collection in partnership with LG and Schneider Electric

Apple has announced the Apple Home Collection smart home accessories lineup built with LG and Schneider Electric.

The release includes security cameras, thermostats, and a smart lock featuring Ultra-Wideband technology and cross-platform Aliro standard support for Android devices.

The smart lock that opens with other companies' phones

The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock, which costs $349,95, has built-in location-based technology, so it can unlock automatically as you approach with your phone or watch, or with a simple tap of your device on the lock, similar to the checkout process at a store.

Beyond Apple's system, the lock supports the new Aliro program, which allows Android phone users, such as Samsung and Google, to share home access in the same easy way.

Doorbell with dual camera for packages

The LG Video Doorbell, priced at $249,95, uses two separate cameras to solve the problem of blind spots. The first camera shows the visitor's face, while a second camera is aimed low to the ground to monitor any packages left by couriers at the door.

Smart descriptions from Siri

LG's new indoor and outdoor security cameras, priced at $199,95 and $299,95 respectively, work with the Siri AI assistant. Instead of just a simple motion alert, the system sends written descriptions explaining exactly what happened in the video.

These smart descriptions appear on users' Apple devices and make it easy to search through previously saved videos by simply typing in what you're looking for.

When are they released?

The entire new line of devices is expected to hit the market in December.
