Apple is expected to unveil HomeView, a smart home device

Bloomberg reported that Apple’s HomeView, expected to be introduced at the October 13 “Welcome home” event, would act as a central control point for an Apple smart home, mainly through Siri.

Mark Gurman reported that it would support a limited selection of Apple apps and have no App Store access—a reported product boundary that distinguishes home control from a general-purpose app platform.

The HomeView is expected to be released in two versions: a countertop version with a metal speaker stand, and a wall-mounted version. The countertop version is expected to come in space gray, silver, starlight, and pink. The wall-mounted version is expected to come in space gray and silver only.

According to the report, the device will support a limited selection of Apple apps and will not have access to the App Store. Apple reportedly wants users to connect third-party products to the HomeView and control them through Siri, the Home app, or other Apple devices.

Gurman also says Apple is working with LG on smart home products, such as doorbells, thermostats and outdoor security cameras. It is also working with Schneider Electric SE on products for the European market. The third-party products are expected to be sold under the Apple Home Collection name.

Apple is also expected to unveil a refreshed HomePod mini with an S10 processor and a new Apple TV with an A19 processor. According to Gurman, they are expected to start shipping on October 30th, and will be available in Apple stores the same day.

Gurman estimated that LG's products will be released after Apple's products, at the earliest later in 2026.
