AxiomMath has announced the formal verification of the Stacks Project, a massive open-source library of mathematical proofs.
By utilizing custom AI agents to translate 7,654 pages of work into 16 million lines of Lean code, the company has established a verifiable foundation.
This development is designed to provide a reliable base for future AI systems to generate safer and more logically sound software, marking a significant step in the intersection of formal methods and artificial intelligence.
The conversion to digital language
AxiomMath managed to convert the project’s 7.654 pages of mathematical texts into 16 million lines of Lean code. This process, known as formal verification, ensures that each mathematical proof is logically sound and free of contradictions. The task was undertaken by a fleet of the company’s specially trained artificial intelligence models.
Why is it important?
The creation of this knowledge base aims to provide AI systems with a reliable foundation. According to the company, this verified material can help AI systems write more secure and reliable software in the future.
AxiomMath was founded in March 2025 by Carina Hong. In March 2026, the company raised $200 million in funding, and its total value is currently valued at $1,6 billion.
