A technical look at the Bose Sport Open Earbuds, priced at $199 and built with Bluetooth 5.4, AAC/SBC support, multipoint connectivity, and Google Fast Pair.
Review the hardware specs, button controls, and upcoming firmware feature roadmap.
Design and handling
The earbuds feature slim, matte silicone C-shaped ear hooks that hug the outer ear, placing a small speaker close to the ear canal without blocking it. This design provides stability and comfort during movement. Instead of touch-sensitive buttons, each earbud features physical, textured buttons for easy operation.
The device has IP54 certification for resistance to sweat, light rain, and general outdoor conditions.
Connectivity and features
Connection is via Bluetooth 5.4, with support for SBC and AAC standards, the ability to connect to two devices simultaneously, and quick pairing on Android.
