Facebook lets users change their feed with plain text

Facebook is rolling out 'Your Algorithm', a new feature that lets users refine feed rankings using text descriptions and detailed preference controls powered by large language models.

The company has begun rolling out a new feature called Your Algorithm. Through this option, users can describe in their own words what types of posts and videos they would like to appear in their feed, while also being able to choose topics that interest them or that they want to avoid.

How content is regulated

To adjust your preferences, simply tap the three-dot button on a post or video and select the relevant setting. A tab will open where you can make any changes you want.

Additionally, below the posts there are options for whether they like something or not. By clicking on them, additional topic options appear along with a text box, in which they can explain in detail the reasons for their preference.

According to the company, this technology relies on advanced artificial intelligence systems to improve the way posts are selected. A similar feature was introduced for Instagram videos in December.

The new feature is rolling out gradually and may not yet be visible to all accounts.
