Fedora Linux 45 has been delayed to November 3 following a NO-GO decision on Final RC-1.2.
The postponement centers on an active release blocker involving Stratis encrypted storage pools failing to initialize during system boot, with further Go/No-Go evaluations scheduled.
The new software was originally scheduled to be released on October 20, but the date was initially pushed back to October 27. However, on October 22, the project's operations manager, Aoife Moloney, announced that the trial version had been deemed unsuitable due to technical issues.
According to the team's findings, there is a core traffic-blocking issue involving encrypted storage that fails to initialize during computer startup.
Additionally, three other issues that have been suggested as bottlenecks are being addressed. These relate to remote login passwords that may not automatically unlock, difficulties in transferring user account data, and a security policy update that breaks remote login functionality.
