Former Meta AI director Rohit Patel has launched Ndoc, a new workspace alternative combining presentation, narrative, and data modeling tools built with open-source models.
Patel's departure joins a series of high-profile exits of senior executives from Meta, including Joel Kaplan, Andrew Tulloch, and Emily Dalton Smith.
How the new platform works
The Ndoc platform combines three main parts: Stage for presentations and dashboards, Narrative for analyses and texts, and Model for the underlying data and Python programming scripts. The goal is to combine functions that are usually required by different applications.
Its creator focuses on transparency, allowing users to ask the AI to explain the code and formulas used. The platform also has links to import existing data from other tools.
The team's progress and next steps
Ndoc is built and configured using a mix of open source models. Patel plans to offer the platform's archive as an open source format.

The startup's team consists of three people and has not secured funding, while similar tools for professional use are being developed by large companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, SpaceXAI and Google.
The startup is conducting a business test and opening a limited version to a small number of customers via a waiting list. Registration is free, but customers pay based on usage. The beta test version is expected to be released in the coming weeks, with a full release planned for next year.
