Haruna 1.9 is out, bringing KDE and MPV foundations with enhanced YouTube URL parsing via yt-dlp, M3U extended metadata support, and a new subtitle transcription panel.
Startup behavior now loads solely the active playlist.
Improvements for YouTube and playlists
The update brings changes to the way the app handles videos and playlists. In the progress bar, users can now see which parts of the video have loaded. At the same time, YouTube URLs are managed more efficiently with the help of yt-dlp.
In playlists, only the active list is loaded when the application is launched. File details are stored in the program's database, and support for extended metadata in M3U lists has been added.
New features and fixes
The new version adds a subtitle transcription panel, which users can open with the Ctrl+P shortcut. Additionally, video chapters are now displayed as vertical lines in the progress bar.
