This Samsung TV guide distinguishes a full reset from a simple restart and gives the Tizen settings path: Home > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Reset.
A full reset returns the TV to its original state, requires a PIN, and means setting preferences, apps, updates and app sign-ins up again; it may not resolve the issue.
Full TV reset
Before you begin, have your TV PIN, streaming app passwords, and Wi-Fi login information ready. After the reset, you'll need to reconfigure picture and sound options, download TV apps and updates, and sign back in to apps.
From the Home screen, open Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Reset . Enter your PIN and select OK to start the reset. If you haven't set your own PIN, use 0000.
Samsung occasionally changes the names of buttons and menus with TV system updates, but the steps usually don't differ much from one generation of TV to the next.
Restart and other options
For a simple restart, unplug the TV for 30 seconds or press and hold the power button on the remote control for five seconds. The TV will turn off briefly and then turn back on, displaying the Samsung logo.
Restarting clears the memory that the TV is temporarily using and restarts the functions running in the background. Sometimes, these functions can experience problems.
If the issue is with the Smart Hub, you can reset only that. Its options will return to their original values and your related apps and account information will be deleted. You will need to redownload the apps and sign in again.
Open Settings > All Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Reset Smart Hub . Enter your PIN. If you haven't set one, use 0000.
If you're having trouble connecting, first check your Wi-Fi device or your provider's service, as the problem may lie there. You can also reset just your network settings: open Settings > All Settings > Connections > Network > Reset Network and confirm the option. Then, open your network settings again and enter your Wi-Fi name and password.
