Insta360’s new Mic wireless microphones connect directly to most recent Insta360 cameras and record 48 kHz audio without a receiver.
The microSD slot enables internal 32-bit float recording, but only with a card inserted.
Mic also differs from Mic Pro by omitting its three-microphone array for directional audio capture.
The user can put their own images on the screen, such as a logo, or choose a black look or a color that matches their clothes. During recording, audio processing reduces ambient noise.
The Mics connect directly to most of Insta360’s latest cameras, including the Luna Ultra, Luna Pro, X6, and GO Ultra. This allows them to record audio at 48 kHz without a separate receiver. A receiver can connect to up to four microphones and also works with the Mic Pro. The receivers appear to be the same as those included in existing Mic Pro packages.
Internal recording in 32-bit float format is only available when a microSD card is present. This format covers a wider volume range and can help preserve audio when the sounds around the recording change unpredictably.

The Mic alone costs $80, and the Mic with receiver costs $140. The package with two microphones, a receiver, and a charging case costs $250. Each option costs less than the corresponding Mic Pro package.
The individual Mic includes a mounting magnet, a clip-on windscreen and a carrying case. Receiver packages also include a USB-C mobile adapter.
