This week’s indie-game roundup offers a look at several distinct design ideas: Draftula combines castle building with ideas from Tetris and has a demo on Steam; Militsioner centers on escaping a city watched by a giant police officer; and Forever Ago tells a story of grief through exploration, photography and simple puzzles.
It also covers recent showcase announcements, including The Talos Principle 3.
New announcements and beta releases
The second Triple-i Initiative presentation of the year announced that Among Us Story: On Guard will be released on February 17th. Strange Scaffold's Gods With Badges was also shown. **Lazare's Sacrifice** , which featured Gwent designer Damien Monnier, is due out next year. The presentation also showed footage from The Talos Principle 3 , as well as Windrose and Chained Together.
Militsioner was first released six years ago. In the demo, the player tries to escape a city while a giant police officer tries to keep him under control. The protagonist awaits trial for a crime he apparently didn't commit. The full game is expected next year*.*
The Out of Bounds presentation lasted about 45 minutes and featured 16 games, including Bingone , Draftula , and Haunted Cleaner . In Draftula , players build castles with Tetris-like pieces. There's already a demo available on Steam.
The Convergence presentation lasted over two hours. There, a new release date for Kick was announced : November 3rd.
LudoNarraCon showcased 50 games with a focus on storytelling. They are available or in trial on Steam. The event's offer includes discounts on more than 150 games until October 15th.
Games that were released
Forever Ago tells the story of an elderly man named Alfred, who follows a path laid out by his late wife, Audrey. Along the way, he explores, takes photos, and solves simple puzzles. The story deals with grief and life after loss.
The game is available for Windows via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. Its regular price is $20. It is also available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. There is a 10% launch discount on PlayStation with certain terms.
The Traitors: Interactive Game has been released for iOS and Android. Players choose to be Loyalists or Traitors, take on missions, form alliances, and try to stay in the game until the end. It is free to play, but includes in-app purchases.
Shil was released for Meta Quest by OSM Games and Nuostabūs Žaidimai. It costs $15 and is expected to be released on Steam later*.*
Echo Weaver is available for Windows and Mac via Steam, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. There is a trial version available, while its regular price is $20. It is also available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
In the game, the player has the skills they need from the start, but they have to figure out how to use them. They can also use the time to heal, make trades, or open new paths.
Upcoming games
Auroch Digital's Warhammer Survivors will be released on November 10th for PC via GOG, Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, iOS, and Android. It combines Vampire Survivors with the **Warhammer** world : players will collect skulls for upgrades instead of gems.
There will be PC demos available via Steam and Xbox. The game will also be available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The regular price is $8, with some platforms offering discounts at launch or pre-order.
Apple Crumble by Happy Broccoli Games will be released on Steam on December 3rd. The player tries to find out who wants to kill the protagonist's grandmother at her birthday party. The full story is estimated to last 60 to 90 minutes. The demo version lasts 20 to 30 minutes.
Haunted Paws is a cooperative game from LazyFlock. Two dogs try to save their owner from a haunted mansion. The demo version has been released for Windows, while the full game is expected on Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, Switch and Xbox One and Series X/S. Players can play together on the same couch or online. For online play, a friend can join via a free invite.

The third season of Playdate launched this week. Also, the single-player story of Star Wars: Galactic Racer was available through Amazon Luna at no extra charge for Prime subscribers.
