Nvidia has updated its DLSS 5 AI-powered neural rendering technology.
The new model is 2x faster than the previous version, contributing to a 10x performance increase since March.
Through pipeline optimizations and model refinements, the update also reduces VRAM usage by up to 20% at 4K resolution, allowing for higher frame rates and more complex visual effects.
This development brings the total speed increase to tenfold, if we count since last March. At the same time, the company managed to make the model smaller, resulting in consuming up to 20% less graphics memory at 4K resolutions.
Nvidia said this was achieved thanks to changes to the way it works and improvements to the AI model itself, so visual effects in games can now run smoother, at higher refresh rates and more demanding settings.
