ONLYOFFICE Docs 10.0 arrives with over 50 new features, 1,000+ bug fixes, and ~35 security fixes.
The update integrates modular AI tools across editors, separates built-in AI from open-source versions based on feedback, and allows self-hosted users to connect local models.
New artificial intelligence capabilities
The biggest change in the refresh is the addition of AI capabilities across the suite. Users can now access these tools through a dedicated tab, which customizes the options depending on the program they are using.
In text documents, the system can summarize text, rewrite paragraphs, translate content, check grammar, suggest titles, and apply formatting. In spreadsheets, it helps create mathematical formulas, analyze data, identify trends, make predictions, and clean data. In PDF files, it allows users to ask questions, create summaries, draft messages, and hide sensitive information. In presentations, it can create key points, slide titles, and speaker notes.
Following community feedback, the company removed the built-in AI tools from the open source versions and now installs them separately. Those who maintain the suite on their own computers or systems can connect their preferred AI models, including local options, without relying on external services.
Modular structure and improvements per program
The new version brings a more flexible approach to applications, allowing users to work with optional add-ons for file management, forms, and other functions.
The following changes stand out in the individual applications:
- PDF: It supports hidden element removal, automatic table recognition, customizable notes, and reusable signatures.
- Documents: They support tracking other users' cursors in real time during collaboration.
- Accounting sheets: Performance has been improved in many key functions.
- Presentations: They added five new viewing modes and the ability to export presentations as animations or videos.
The suite also gains support for OFD files, saving spreadsheets in XLS format, and converting SVG images to editable shapes, along with a redesigned add-on manager and new integrations with services like Salesforce.
The updated version for those who host the suite on their own servers is not yet available and will be released later.
