Reddit is rolling out a global feed redesign featuring separate For You and Following tabs.
The update combines posts from joined communities with algorithmic recommendations while letting users retain a purely chronological view.
The platform announced that it is splitting its homepage into two distinct options, “For You” and “Following.” The new “For You” tab combines posts from the communities you’re subscribed to with content suggestions that match your interests. The change is intended to help users discover new conversations and communities.
On the other hand, the “Following” tab exclusively displays posts from communities in which the user is already a member, maintaining the traditional experience.
With this move, Reddit falls in line with other popular platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, X, and Threads, which have long used algorithms to display recommended content.

However, this change did not please all users. Some had already expressed their dissatisfaction during the testing period, as they prefer to see only the communities they have selected themselves.
Reddit explains that users can freely switch between the two options, and the platform will remember the last option they used the next time they open it. The new feature is starting to roll out globally gradually over the coming weeks.
