Explore how iOS 27 introduces native split-screen multitasking, drag-and-drop capabilities across the center seam, and App Pairs to the 7.6-inch iPhone Duo foldable device, alongside benchmark performance insights.
Using two apps at the same time
Since the first iPhone was released in 2007, Apple's phones have only allowed you to use one app at a time. With a custom version of iOS 27 for the iPhone Duo, Apple now allows you to open two independent apps side by side on the 7,6-inch internal display.
The new feature allows users to drag images or text from one app to another by swiping their finger from the middle of the screen, as well as save their favorite app combinations to open them together with one tap.
Performance and capabilities
According to testing by PCMag editor-in-chief Eric Ziman, the device's powerful technology outperforms last year's Pro models and the Android competition.

The large display also comes with Apple Pencil support, allowing users to write or draw on the internal display. As testers note, the texture of the internal display offers a more natural feel than the slippery external display.
The iPhone Duo starts at $1.999 for the base 256GB model and goes up to $3.199 for the 2TB version.
