United Airlines has introduced a new public flight tracking tool built to display real-time SpaceX Starlink satellite internet availability across its fleet.
The system allows users to query flight numbers or explore availability by hub and aircraft type as the airline scales its hardware rollout.
How the new tool works
Passengers can visit the dedicated website and enter their flight number along with the travel date, up to three days before departure. The system provides real-time updates on any changes, such as if the company needs to change aircraft at the last minute.
In addition to searching for individual flights, the platform allows users to view daily schedules that feature the new connection, as well as review availability by aircraft type. There is also the option to view availability by major airport, including Chicago, Newark, Washington, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston and Denver. The company continues to update travelers via email or text messages sent before the flight.
The course of the service and the expansion of the fleet
United's partnership with Starlink was initially announced in September 2024, while testing began in January 2025. According to data from relevant tracking services, United currently has the largest number of flights with satellite internet compared to other airlines, such as Emirates, Qatar Airways, WestJet, SAS, Alaska Airlines and Air France.
