Asus introduces the Ascent QN10, a $1,699 compact desktop powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite processor featuring an 80 TOPS AI engine.
We examine its benchmark results, hardware specs including 32GB RAM and expandable storage, and how its graphics performance compares to competitors.
At the heart of the system is the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite processor. The AI part of this processor performs 80 trillion operations per second. Asus claims that it has the fastest dedicated AI part in a small computer. However, competing processors from AMD and Intel offer more AI power overall, combining the central processor with their graphics.
In performance tests, the Ascent QN10 proved to be significantly slower on graphics compared to its main competitors. Even Apple's $1.299 Mac mini outperformed the Asus computer in most tests.
In terms of features, the system has 32GB of memory and 512GB of storage, with the option to add a second storage device. It also offers seven USB ports, an HDMI port, a network jack, and an audio jack.
