Desiré, no, I can. We were all young once and I work with many talented youngsters. Some are absolutely brilliant. My most brilliant are also the most humble, who clearly get satisfaction and validation from a job well done. The approval of others is nice to have but not necessary.

I would advise to not seek credit. If you do something, and someone gets the credit, congratulate them. Be determinedly selfless, take pride in your own work if you want, but don't expect others to extend that to you.

You will likely find after adopting that attitude for a while that your workplace experience might improve.

I would also advise saving this thread somewhere. Come back to it in 5 years time and re-read it. There are valuable lessons to be learnt here about humility.
