Finding Your Ideal Desk Height

Most standard desks sit around 28 to 30 inches tall. While that works perfectly for people between 5'8" and 5'10", it can cause real ergonomic issues for everyone else. If your desk is too high, you will likely hike up your shoulders to type, leading to neck and upper back pain over time. If it is too low, you end up hunching forward. To find the right normal desk height, adjust your chair first so your feet are flat and your knees rest at a 90-degree angle. Your elbows should naturally align with the desk surface. If they do not, consider using a keyboard tray, a footrest, or a height-adjustable desk to protect your posture. Check out theremotesync.com for more ergonomic tips.
