Turning Rejection Into Motivation: My Journey to Cloud Engineering

I recently faced rejection from a company I applied to for a volunteer internship. As a senior BSIT student, it hit me hard—especially since cloud engineering isn’t part of my school’s current curriculum, yet it’s the career I want to pursue.

Instead of letting that rejection discourage me, I used it as motivation to push myself further. I began exploring Google Cloud and even built a small project to apply what I was learning. Now, I’ve arranged a personal roadmap to begin my journey with AWS.

The only challenge is that I don’t have a budget for paid certifications. That’s why I’m reaching out here for advice and guidance. Where can students access free or discounted certifications? And what resources or communities would you recommend for someone just starting out with AWS?

This setback may have stung, but I believe it’s just the beginning of something greater. I’m determined to go beyond the standard and prove to myself that I can grow into the cloud engineer I aspire to be.
