How to Adjust Shopify Store Product Image Resolution

When you find that the product image resolution in your Shopify store's initial setup is not suitable, you can quickly adjust it to the ideal 1600 x 1600 resolution without any technical knowledge. We will use the LitaCat - Image Precision AI app to accomplish this.

Good walkthrough! Upscaling to 1600x1600 is the right call — Shopify will serve the right size via its CDN, and having that headroom means zoom works well on product pages.

One thing I'd add: resolution is one layer of the product image problem, but visual consistency across the grid is another. Even at 1600px, if half your images have white backgrounds and the other half have lifestyle shots on various backgrounds, the product listing page looks chaotic. I built an app called Eye Catching (apps.shopify.com/beautiful-brands) that addresses that side — standardizing backgrounds, adding overlays and badges — so the grid looks intentional even when images come from different sources.

Disclosure: I'm the developer. The two tools tackle adjacent problems and work well together.
