I've been building Bando CMS from the ground up.
The idea started with a simple question:
What if developers had a modern headless CMS that they could actually own?
Not just the content.
The data.
The API.
The infrastructure.
The architecture.
That's what I'm trying to build with Bando.
Bando is an open-source, self-hosted, TypeScript-first headless CMS designed for developers who want full control over their stack.
The project is being built with technologies like:
- TypeScript
- Node.js
- PostgreSQL
- React
- REST APIs
I'm also building Bando Studio, the developer interface for managing content and working with the CMS.
Here's a small preview:
Right now, the project is roughly 50% complete.
The core is being built, the architecture is taking shape, and there is already a lot working.
But there's still a lot left to build.
And that's where I want the community to come in.
I'm opening Bando early because I don't want to build another project completely alone and only ask for contributions when everything is already decided.
I want developers to be involved while the project is still being shaped.
You can help with:
→ Architecture discussions
→ Feature proposals
→ Testing
→ Bug fixing
→ Documentation
→ Issues
→ Pull Requests
→ Developer experience
→ Technical decisions
If you work with TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, React, APIs, or simply enjoy building open-source software, I'd love to have you involved.

50% built. 50% still to build.
And I think the next 50% can be much better if we build it together.
If you're a developer who wants to get involved in an open-source project before everything is already decided, come join Bando.
Let's build it together.
