A great product can still lose customers if the landing page is confusing or hard to use.
Here are 7 UI/UX mistakes I see often on startup landing pages:
1. Weak headline
Visitors should understand what you do within 5 seconds.
Fix: Say clearly what your product does and who it helps.
2. Too many fonts and colors
Too many styles make a page feel messy and unprofessional.
Fix: Use one main font and 2–3 consistent colors.
3. No clear call to action
Visitors should not have to guess what to do next.
Fix: Use one strong CTA such as “Start Free” or “Book a Demo.”
4. Poor mobile design
Most visitors will view your page on a phone.
Fix: Test your text size, spacing, images, and buttons on mobile.
5. Cluttered sections
Trying to say everything at once overwhelms visitors.
Fix: Keep one section focused on one message.
6. Low contrast text
Light gray text may look modern, but it can be hard to read.
Fix: Keep important text clear, readable, and high-contrast.
7. No trust signals
People hesitate to sign up when they see no proof.
Fix: Add testimonials, customer logos, reviews, or clear security information.
Quick rule: If a visitor cannot understand your product and next step within 5 seconds, improve the UX before spending more on ads.
