SESSION 1(CLOUD NATIVE SYSTEMS AND AI INTEGRATION)

As part of my Cloud Computing Workshop, Day 1 focused on AWS Infrastructure Foundations, with hands-on experience using Amazon S3 and CloudFront.

What I Learned & Implemented

☁️ Amazon S3

I learned how Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service) is used to store and manage objects such as files, images, and website content.

• Created an S3 bucket
• Uploaded my portfolio index.html file
• Uploaded an image and linked it to the portfolio
• Learned about Object Ownership
• Enabled and understood Bucket Versioning
• Configured the bucket for static website hosting
• Used the S3 website endpoint URL to make my portfolio accessible to users

🌍 Amazon CloudFront

To improve the accessibility and performance of the website, I learned how Amazon CloudFront, AWS's Content Delivery Network (CDN), works with S3.

• Created a CloudFront distribution
• Connected the S3 bucket as the origin
• Configured the required bucket policy/access permissions
• Understood how CloudFront caches and delivers content through global edge locations
• Used the CloudFront-provided domain name to access my portfolio

Key Takeaway
