From MERN to Mainnet: My First 10 USDC on Stellar

Progress isn't always a loud announcement or a flashy demo. Sometimes, it’s just the quiet hum of a laptop at 2 AM and the notification of a successful on-chain transaction.
I’ve spent the last 30 days pivoting. While my foundation is in the MERN stack, I’ve been quietly "rewiring" my logic to understand the world of Blockchain. Today, that silent progress manifested into a tangible milestone: I earned my first 10 USDC through the Stellar Rise In Challenge.
Here’s why this small amount represents a massive shift in my career.
1. The Pivot: Why Stellar and Soroban? 🌌
Coming from a Web2 background (MongoDB, Express, React, Node), the concepts of "State" and "Storage" are familiar, but Smart Contracts change the game entirely. I chose the Stellar ecosystem because of its focus on real-world utility and the power of Soroban—Stellar's Rust-based smart contract platform.

2. The "Water Cutting Rock" Philosophy 🌊
I’m a firm believer that consistency is the ultimate competitive advantage. I’ve been building in silence for over 100 days because I wanted my "Proof of Work" to be my code, not my claims.
Participating in the Stellar Rise In Challenge (shoutout to the Rise In team!) provided the perfect sandbox. It pushed me to move past tutorials and actually:
- Deploy my first contract.
- Understand trustlines and asset issuance.
- Navigate the path from Testnet to earning real USDC.
3. What +10 USDC Actually Means 📈
To a bystander, it’s just ten dollars. To a developer, it’s a "Hello World" that pays. It’s validation that:
- My development environment is optimized and correct.
- My logic is sound enough to be rewarded by a global protocol.
- I am no longer just a "Web3 enthusiast"—I am a Web3 contributor.
This milestone is the "fuel" for my current project, TrustLance—a freelance platform utilizing Stellar for secure escrow payments.
4. The Journey Ahead
This is only the beginning. My goal is to continue scaling my skills in Blockchain and AI, eventually taking this expertise to a global stage (with a specific eye on a tech internship in Japan).
