How to Design an Egg Yoke Separator using 3D CAD Software
Everyday kitchen tools offer surprisingly rich opportunities for learning 3D modeling, and an egg yolk separator is a perfect example of functional design in action. Though simple in appearance, this tool requires careful consideration of shape, openings, thickness, and flow to effectively separate the yolk from the egg white without breaking it. In this article, you will learn how to design an egg yolk separator using SelfCAD, a cloud-based 3D modeling tool that makes it easy to visualize and refine practical designs. By modeling this object step by step, students and educators can explore key concepts such as curvature, proportions, and usability while also learning how to prepare a design for 3D printing, demonstrating how digital modeling skills translate into real-world problem solving
