10 sections every local business landing page needs (with example copy)

A landing page for a local service business has one job: turn a visitor into a phone call, a booking or a quote request. Here are the ten sections that do most of the work, in the order that tends to convert best, with example copy you can adapt.

1. Header with one clear action

Business name on the left, one button on the right ("Call now", "Get a free quote", "Book online"). No long menu. Every extra link is an exit.

2. Hero: result, place, action

Formula: [Result] + [for whom/where], then one supporting sentence and one button.

  • "Same-day boiler repairs in Leeds"
  • "Gentle family dentistry in Austin. New patients welcome."

Avoid vague headlines like "Welcome to our website".

3. Trust bar

Three or four short, true statements: years in business (if real), insured, upfront pricing, free quotes. Never invent numbers or reviews.

4. Services as four cards

Four is enough above the fold. Each card: a plain name and one line that says what the customer gets.

5. Proof

Use real proof only: real reviews you have permission to show, before/after photos, certifications, logos of professional bodies. If you have none yet, skip the section instead of faking it, and add a link to your Google Business Profile reviews.

6. How it works

Three steps: tell us what you need, get a clear quote, we do the job. This removes the fear of "what happens next".

7. Pricing signals

You don't need a full price list. "From $X", "free quote in 24 hours" or "fixed-price packages" lowers friction and filters out bad-fit leads.

8. Area and hours

Search engines and customers both want to know where you work. List towns or neighbourhoods and opening hours in plain text.

9. Frequently asked questions

Answer the three questions you hear most: price, timing, guarantees. Each answer should be two sentences or fewer.

10. Contact block

Phone number as a tap-to-call link, a short form (name, phone, what you need), and the address if customers visit you. Keep the form to three or four fields.

Quick checklist before you publish

  • [ ] Phone number visible without scrolling on mobile
  • [ ] Page loads in under 2 seconds (compress images)
  • [ ] One main action repeated, not five different ones
  • [ ] Every claim is true and provable
  • [ ] Google Business Profile links to the page

If you'd rather start from a working layout than a blank file, I put together six editable one-page templates (plumber, dentist, barber, cleaner, trainer, roofer) that follow this structure: Local Business Website Pack (paid product; disclosure: I am the seller).
