I work at a financial institution as a programmer team lead in the team that administers and programs for the core system, Episys.
We program in a proprietary (to Episys) language called PowerOn, which is based a bit off PL1. Most of the core system is locked down, so we typically write reporting programs and html-based interfaces that launch in the desktop app, Quest.
In the next year or two, Jack Henry (which offers the Episys core system) will be rolling out PowerOn2. PowerOn2 will not be a language update, but a a collection of frameworks that will provide more flexibility for designing web-based interfaces inside the core interface, as well as Java-based services.
Outside of work I'm starting to tinker with learning Go and would like to do some tinkering with Android programming
