Most of my AI usage happens next to whatever I'm already reading in the browser: docs, issues, articles. So I tried the Ziroo Chrome extension, which brings the Ziroo assistant straight into Chrome.
What Ziroo is
Ziroo is a Persian AI assistant. Besides the web chat at ziroo.me, it ships an AI agent, the Ziroo Code CLI (npm install -g @ziroo/code), a VS Code extension and a Chrome extension. There is a free tier, so you can try it without paying.
Installing the extension
The extension is on the Chrome Web Store: Ziroo for Chrome. Install it, pin it to the toolbar, and sign in with your Ziroo account.
How I use it
- Summarizing long pages. Open a long article or RFC, ask for a short summary, and decide whether it's worth a full read.
- Explaining code snippets. When a Stack Overflow answer or GitHub file uses an unfamiliar API, I ask the assistant to explain it line by line.
- Translating and writing in Persian. Since Ziroo is built with Persian speakers in mind, switching between Persian and English feels natural, which is handy for drafting messages or reading local docs.
- Quick questions without switching tabs. The main benefit is staying in context instead of copying text into another window.
Tips
- Keep prompts specific: "summarize in five bullets" works better than "summarize".
- Paste the relevant snippet rather than the whole page when you want precise answers.
- Double-check facts and code, as with any AI tool.
Wrapping up
If you already use Ziroo in the web chat or the terminal, the Chrome extension is a natural addition, and the free tier makes it easy to test. Start at ziroo.me or grab the extension directly.
