How to Create 3 Spider-Man Designs from Alternate-Universe with AI

What if Spider-Man existed in a world completely different from the one we already know? Across the Spider-Verse, we’ve seen how one familiar hero can take on countless forms, with different costumes, personalities, and stories while still feeling unmistakably like Spider-Man. That same idea can inspire your own alternate universe, where you get to decide the setting, visual style, and direction of the story.

Picture Spider-Man protecting a city glowing with neon lights, moving through a darker and mysterious world, or wearing a suit inspired by an entirely different era. A change in the setting, costume, lighting, color palette, and atmosphere can give the same character a completely different identity.

You might not be able to rewrite the universe, but you can reimagine the hero with an AI character generator. In this tutorial, we’ll create three alternate-universe versions of Spider-Man using PixAI Studio and the Tsubaki.3 model. Ready to see what Spider-Man could look like in another world? Let’s start creating!

Set Up Your Alternate-Universe Workflow

Let’s set up a simple workflow for our multiverse character designs:

  1. First, open PixAI Studio and click Create a new workspace. This gives us a clean canvas where we can build and organize the character designs.
  2. Since we’re creating three character designs, we’ll need three Image Nodes. At the bottom of the canvas, find the toolbar, click Add Node, and select Image. Repeat the process until you have three Image Nodes on the canvas.
  3. Click the first Image Node and look below the prompt box for the model selector.Make sure to select Tsubaki.3.

  4. Repeat the same process for the other two Image Nodes. Keep Tsubaki.3 selected across all three nodes so we can use the same generation model while changing the prompt for each alternate-universe design.

Now that our three Image Nodes are ready, we can use each one to create a different Spider-Man alternate universe.

Here’s what the workspace should look like:

Change the Universe, Keep the Character

To keep Spider-Man recognizable across each Image Node, let’s first create a base character description and add it to all three prompt boxes. This will act as our reference throughout the workflow, allowing us to keep the core character details while changing the prompt for each alternate universe.

Using the same character foundation also makes the process easier to manage. Rather than designing a completely different Spider-Man for every universe, we can keep his recognizable features consistent and focus on transforming the world around him.

For this tutorial, let’s use this base prompt:

“Spider-Man wearing his iconic red and blue full body suit, covered in black web patterns with distinct spiderman emblem on the chest, textured stretch fabric, full-face mask with large white eye lenses, set on a modern city rooftop surrounded by skyscrapers and urban props, with cinematic daylight, soft shadow, and bright, energetic superhero mood”

We won’t use this base prompt to generate our first universe. Instead, it will serve as our reference as we adjust different elements for each universe, such as:

  • Costume material
  • The setting
  • Environment
  • Props
  • Lighting
  • Visual Mood

Universe 1 — Spider-Man as a Cyberpunk Hero

Imagine Spider-Man moving through a city that feels decades ahead of our time. For our first alternate-universe concept, we’ll place him in a cyberpunk world filled with massive skyscrapers, glowing neon lights, advanced technology, and a futuristic atmosphere.

Before building the prompt, take a moment to picture the world around him. What does the city look like? What kind of suit would Spider-Man wear? What details would make this universe feel different from the one we know? Thinking through these elements first gives the AI clearer visual direction and helps define the identity of the scene.

We want this universe to feel far removed from the familiar New York setting while still making Spider-Man easy to recognize as the main character.

For this design, we’ll focus on these key elements:

  • Neon megacity
  • Holographic signs
  • High-tech suit materials
  • Glowing web details
  • Futuristic skyscrapers
  • Rainy street

Now let’s incorporate these details into the base prompt. Your updated prompt can look like this:

“Spider-Man wearing a futuristic high-tech suit made from sleek synthetic materials, with glowing web details, set in a neon megacity surrounded by towering futuristic skyscrapers, holographic signs, elevated structures, and a rainy street filled with reflections and subtle futuristic props, illuminated by vibrant neon lights, glowy city lights, and atmospheric rain, creating a sleek, cinematic, futuristic cyberpunk mood”

You can also add simple negative prompts such as distorted anatomy, cropped body, and low resolution to help refine the output. Once your prompt is ready, select the Tsubaki.3 model and click Generate.

Final result:

Universe 2 — Spider-Man as a Samurai Hero

Picture Spider-Man traveling across the rooftops of a feudal Japanese city, with a katana at his side and the moon illuminating the streets below. For this alternate universe, we’ll transform his familiar costume into a samurai-inspired design and surround him with traditional Japanese elements to completely change the setting.

Before writing the prompt, think about how all the visual details can work together. The costume, architecture, lighting, and atmosphere should all reinforce the Samurai theme while keeping enough of Spider-Man’s familiar features to make the character recognizable.

Here are the main elements we’ll use:

  • Samurai-inspired armor
  • Web-pattern details
  • Traditional rooftops
  • Dramatic moonlight
  • katana-inspired visuals
  • Feudal city atmosphere

Now let’s bring these ideas together in our prompt:

“Spider-Man reimagined as a Japanese Samurai, wearing a traditional-inspired red and blue samurai costume layered armor, woven web-pattern details, a distinct spiderman emblem, and a katana at his side, standing on the curved rooftop of a traditional Japanese building overlooking a feudal city, with wooden houses, tile rooftops, paper lanterns, drifting mist, and a large glowing moonlight casting long shadows across the scene, creating an elegant, heroic, cinematic atmosphere”

Universe 3 — Spider-Man in a Dark Fantasy World

For our final universe, let’s take Spider-Man somewhere far beyond the modern city and into a dark fantasy realm. Instead of swinging between skyscrapers, imagine him standing among ancient buildings, gothic towers, drifting mist, and magical energy. We’ll transform his familiar look with dark red and black tones while adding fantasy-inspired details to make this version feel like it belongs in another world.

Since this universe relies heavily on fantasy, the smaller visual details can make a big difference. Think about the architecture, atmosphere, lighting, and magical elements you want to surround Spider-Man. The goal is to create a setting that feels ancient and mysterious while still keeping the character recognizable.

Here are the key elements we’ll include:

  • Gothic city
  • Dark red and black costume
  • Fantasy elements
  • Giant moon
  • Mist
  • Ancient architecture
  • Magical web-like energy

Let’s combine these details into our prompt:

“Spider-Man reimagined in a dark fantasy world, wearing a dark red and black costume made from textured fabric and fantasy-inspired, with intricate web patterns and a distinct spider emblem, standing on the rooftop of an ancient gothic-inspired city surrounded by towering stone buildings, ornate spires, ruined architecture, and drifting mist, with a giant glowing moon illuminating the dark sky, magical web-like energy surrounding his hands and body, and dramatic moonlight creating deep shadows for a mysterious, powerful, and cinematic fantasy mood”

You can also adjust the negative prompt depending on the specific result you want to achieve.

Compare the Three Spider-Man Universes

Spider-Man alternative universes side by side comparison

We’ve successfully reimagined Spider-Man across three different alternate universes. The small costume details we added to each prompt played an important role in making every version feel different. These details helped define not only the setting but also the overall mood of each scene.

Each universe offers a different interpretation of the Spider-Verse, which also influenced the colors and lighting we used. Neon and glowing lights naturally fit the Cyberpunk Spider-Man, while the Samurai and Dark Fantasy versions work better with muted colors and darker tones.

When comparing the designs based on how much they differ from the original Spider-Man, the Samurai Spider-Man stands out the most. We haven’t seen Spider-Man wearing Japanese-inspired armor in this way before, making the design feel especially fresh and distinct. Meanwhile, the Cyberpunk and Dark Fantasy versions stay more closely connected to Spider-Man’s original look.

Build Your Own Spider-Man Universe

There are countless possibilities for placing Spider-Man in different forms across alternate universes. All you need is an idea, a clear visual direction, and an AI character generator to help bring the scene to life.

Start by imagining the kind of world you want Spider-Man to exist in. Think about the time period, environment, costume, lighting, and overall mood before turning those ideas into a prompt. You can also mix different themes together to create a universe that feels completely original.

For your own Spider-Man AI art, you could explore ideas like:

  • Western / Cowboy universe
  • Space opera
  • Post-apocalyptic city
  • Magical academy
  • Retro-futuristic New York

There are plenty of other directions to try, too, such as a steampunk city, underwater world, medieval kingdom, or an entirely unexplored universe. With a clear concept in mind, you can change Spider-Man’s appearance and surroundings while keeping the character recognizable.
Your imagination sets the direction for what kind of Spider-Man universe you want to create. To keep the character consistent as you experiment with different details, you can use a base prompt like we did in this tutorial or keep a written list of the character’s core traits as you develop each new concept.

Share Your Spider-Man Creation on PixAI

What’s better than creating your own Spider-Man universe? Sharing it with fellow fans and creators! Using PixAI Studio, we turned our alternate-universe ideas into unique Spider-Man designs, and now it’s time to share one of them with the community.

For this tutorial, let’s choose the Dark Fantasy Spider-Man and publish it on PixAI. Out of the three versions, this one feels the most like a scene where Spider-Man is about to face a dangerous enemy. Everyone loves a good fight scene, and in this universe, the villains could even be vampires or mysterious gothic creatures. The design also shows how changing the world around a familiar character can completely shift the atmosphere of the scene.

I especially liked the mood and setting of the dark fantasy realm. Instead of placing Spider-Man in his usual modern city, the darker environment makes him feel like he belongs in a mysterious fantasy world. I also like how the webs were transformed into something more magical. The suit still feels close to the original Spider-Man design, but the dark, muted colors give it a distinct appearance that fits the mysterious atmosphere.

You can also use the published artwork as a starting point for your own interpretation. Try changing the setting, adding new props, or upgrading the costume details to see how far you can take the concept.

Conclusion

The multiverse is full of possibilities, so why stop at three? With an alternate universe and an AI character generator, you can take a familiar hero and place him in a completely different world. Change the setting, costume, and visual style, and the same Spider-Man can become part of an entirely new story.

In this tutorial, we created a blank workspace and built a simple workflow to imagine three different Spider-Man universes. You can follow the same process to get started: create a new workspace, add three Image Nodes, select Tsubaki.3, and begin generating your three versions.

Having all three designs in one workflow also makes it easier to compare different ideas and decide which direction works best. An organized setup lets you adjust individual elements while keeping the main character and overall creative direction consistent.

You can follow the same process or create your own workflow in PixAI Studio. Use your favorite hero as inspiration, or bring your own OC into a new universe and start experimenting. The next world you imagine could be your own.
