Hi everyone! π
I'm excited to share my first post here on Dev.to as a woman in tech who is passionate about continuous learning, collaboration, and driving change in the DevOps world.
π©βπ» Who am I?
My name is Katerina, and I'm a software developer and IT project manager currently working in the aerospace industry. With a background in computer engineering and a master's in business informatics, my journey has always been about combining tech knowledge with real-world impact.
Iβve recently expanded my focus into the world of DevOps β a field that fascinates me because of its emphasis on automation, teamwork, and agility.
π Being a Woman in Tech
Letβs be honest β the tech world is still far from balanced. As a woman navigating a male-dominated industry, Iβve faced moments of doubt, isolation, and the constant need to prove myself.
But Iβve also experienced support, mentorship, and the power of women uplifting each other. Communities like Women in Tech, Magenta Frauen, and Girls in Tech have helped me realize: we are not alone.
Weβre stronger when we speak up, share knowledge, and break barriers β together.
π§ Why DevOps?
DevOps isnβt just about tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or Jenkins. Itβs a mindset β a way to bridge gaps between development and operations. It brings transparency, speed, and collaboration to the software lifecycle.
For me, DevOps is where I see real transformation happening β in teams, in culture, and in systems.
π‘ A Few Lessons So Far
Donβt wait for permission. Start learning, experimenting, and applying.
Find your tribe β communities matter more than we think.
Celebrate small wins β every script that works, every pipeline that runs.
π Final Thoughts
If you're a woman considering a career in tech or DevOps, go for it. The road may be tough at times, but the destination is worth it. We need more diverse voices shaping the future of technology.
Letβs stay connected, support each other, and keep building β code, pipelines, and confidence. πͺ
