Google is crawling and indexing my site very slowly despite strong technical SEO and PageSpeed. What's missing?

Hi everyone,

I need some advice on why Google is taking so long to index new pages on our company website.

We have fixed our site speed and performance (PageSpeed scores are over 90, and Core Web Vitals are good), but Google is still not reading or indexing our new content quickly. Search Console shows Google only visits around 10 pages at a time, and sometimes weeks go by without a deep crawl.

GSC data

Semrush data

Here is what we are currently doing on the site:

Content: We post a new blog every week targeting specific search topics, and we built separate pages for different services, technologies, and locations.

Links & Structure: We add links inside our content to connect related pages, and our XML sitemap is updated in Google Search Console.

Backlinks: We have gathered backlinks from various websites over time.

Speed: The site loads fast and scores 90 - 95 on most performance tools.

The Problems We Are Facing

Very Slow Crawling: Search Console shows long gaps between Google visits. Many new blog posts stay marked as "Discovered - currently not indexed" for weeks.

Request Indexing Does Not Work: Manually clicking "Request Indexing" in Search Console does not seem to help get the pages indexed.

Targeted Pages Left Out: Pages built for specific technologies or locations are not getting indexed, even though they are linked from indexed pages and added to the sitemap.

No Keyword Growth: Because Google is not indexing the new pages, our keyword count in tools like Ahrefs and Semrush is not growing.

Questions for the Community

Website Popularity & Crawling: Does Google crawl a site less often if it does not have enough high quality backlinks yet?

Similar Pages Issue: Could Google think our location-based or technology-based pages look too similar to each other, causing it to skip indexing them?

Internal Links: How can we better link our pages together so Google finds and indexes new content faster?

Tool Scores vs. Real Results: Since our PageSpeed and SEO tool scores are already high, what other technical factors should we check next?
