This is a submission for Frontend Challenge - Comfort Food Edition, Perfect Landing
What I Built
Veettu Suvai — வீட்டு சுவை
A visual love letter to South Indian comfort food.
Veettu Suvai is a landing page inspired by the food that feels like home — simple meals, familiar flavours, banana-leaf lunches, and the dishes we grew up with.
The experience brings together Tamil and English storytelling with food-focused visuals, smooth interactions, and a warm, editorial-style interface.
Instead of building another restaurant website, I wanted to create something that feels like opening the door to a South Indian home at lunchtime.

Journey
The idea started with a simple question:
"What does comfort food look like when you come from South India?"
I wanted the answer to be more than a list of dishes.
I experimented with typography, food photography, Tamil + English copy, animations, spacing, and interactive elements to create an experience around the feeling of eating at home.
One of the things I enjoyed most was finding a balance between traditional South Indian food culture and a modern frontend aesthetic.
This project also gave me a chance to explore modern React tooling, responsive layouts, animation, and creating a design where the food itself remains the focus.
I'm particularly proud of how the final experience brings together something very familiar with a modern web interface.
What's next?
I'd love to expand Veettu Suvai into a larger collection of regional South Indian dishes, stories, recipes, and the memories behind them.
Because sometimes, comfort food isn't just food.
It's home.
