🎮 TCJSGame Update: The Future is Being Drawn
A New Version. A Possible New Name.
We're excited to announce that TCJSGame V4 is in active development—and with it, we're exploring a significant change: a rebrand to Limn Engines.
Nothing is final yet. But we wanted to share where we're heading.
What We're Working On
TCJSGame V4 (Codename: "Sonic")
The next version is already taking shape with major performance improvements:
- Dual-renderer architecture (fake canvas caching)
- Enhanced camera system (shake, zoom, transitions)
- Circle collision detection
- Screen culling (only render what you see)
- Delta time & true 60 FPS
- Dynamic image methods
Early tests show 2-3x performance gains over V3.
The Possible Rebrand: Limn Engines
Limn (verb) - to draw, paint, or portray.
We believe this name better captures what the engine helps you do: bring your game ideas to life, one line of code at a time.
Why Consider the Change?

What This Means For You
Right now: Nothing changes. TCJSGame V3 works as always.
Soon: We'll release V4 as either:
- TCJSGame V4, or
- Limn Engines V1
We'll announce the final decision before release.
