Recently, I built COPstark, a cloud budget optimization tool that helps businesses analyze their AWS infrastructure, identify cost-saving opportunities, and make informed decisions about cloud spending.
Services
- Cloud Infrastructure Recommendations: Generate actionable recommendations to optimize your AWS infrastructure and reduce unnecessary spending.
- Savings Monitor: Track how much you have saved through the recommendations implemented using COPstark.
- Savings Plans Recommendations: Identify potential savings opportunities through AWS Savings Plans.
- AI-Powered Chatbot: Ask questions about recommendations, their application, and the logic behind them. The chatbot helps you understand why a recommendation was generated and how it can be applied.
How It Works
COPstark analyzes AWS accounts across 13 services and provides recommendations for resource rightsizing, scheduling, and Savings Plans. It also includes an AI-powered assistant that allows users to query their AWS infrastructure, understand resource utilization, and explore cost-saving opportunities.
One of the key features is the ability to apply supported recommendations directly to the AWS account, making the optimization process more actionable.
Technical Architecture
From a technical perspective, COPstark uses AWS CDK, ECS, Docker, Lambda, S3, Cost and Usage Reports, and CloudTrail. The architecture is designed to analyze customer environments through secure cross-account access without requiring additional infrastructure in their accounts.
Results
Achieved approximately $200 in monthly savings for our own company.
Identified potential savings of up to 70% for some enterprise workloads.
Helped one client achieve approximately $3,000 in monthly savings.
our clients are 20 enterprise company till date.
Building COPstark gave me valuable experience in cloud architecture, AWS cost optimization, distributed systems, and integrating AI into practical engineering workflows.
I would love to hear how other developers and engineering teams approach cloud cost optimization in their projects.
