Test Early with RK3566 and a 3.4-inch Round Display Before Your Custom SBC is Ready

Before diving into custom hardware development, it’s always a good idea to test key components early — and nothing is more critical than the display when it comes to user interaction.

In our latest trial, we used a Rockchip RK3566-based development board to power a 3.4-inch round IPS TFT display (800×800) from Rocktech. As shown in the image below, we connected the screen via a breakout adapter board with flying wires, allowing us to test the LCD and touch functionality even before our final custom board design is ready.
Why It Matters

✅ Early Validation – Ensure your display driver, kernel overlay, and resolution setup works properly.
✅ Accelerated UI Design – Start developing and optimizing your Android/Linux application UI ahead of time.
✅ Performance Benchmarking – Evaluate CPU + GPU rendering with actual screen layout and user interactions.

About the Platform
• SoC: Rockchip RK3566, Quad-core Cortex-A55, up to 1.8GHz
• OS Support: Android 11, Debian, Buildroot, Yocto
• Display: Rocktech 3.4-inch Round IPS TFT, 800×800 resolution

If you’re working on smart displays, industrial UI panels, or round screen control panels, this approach can save you weeks of debugging and redesigns.
