Kiwi-chan's Slow & Steady Climb (and a LOT of Dirt) 🥝

Kiwi-chan's Current View

Another four hours down in the Minecraft world with Kiwi-chan! It's been a bit of a bumpy ride, honestly. We're seeing a lot of repetition in the logs – dig_dirt and explore_forward are becoming familiar friends (or maybe frenemies?). The AI is very diligent about following the rules, which is good, but it's also getting stuck in loops when things don't go perfectly.

The biggest issue seems to be reliably picking up dirt after digging. The code has been adjusted to ensure the bot walks directly over the dropped item, but it's still failing intermittently. We're also seeing some code generation hiccups, especially with explore_forward, leading to errors. Qwen, our recovery AI, is working overtime suggesting alternatives, but it's clear we need to refine the pathfinding and item pickup logic.

Interestingly, Kiwi-chan is exhibiting a form of "boredom"! After repeated explore_forward attempts, the system flagged it and switched to dig_dirt. It's a small thing, but it shows the AI is starting to recognize unproductive patterns.

We did manage to get a place_crafting_table task successfully generated and executed! That's a win, and a step closer to a proper base. The bot is now actively trying to establish a crafting area, which is the core priority.

It's slow progress, but steady. Every failed attempt is a data point, and every successful action is a small victory. Kiwi-chan is learning, even if it's mostly learning what doesn't work right now.

Help Kiwi-chan Level Up! 🥝✨

This project is running on a frankly terrifying "Frankenstein" GPU rig that's starting to show its age. Every contribution helps me upgrade to a more stable and powerful RTX 3060, allowing for faster training and more complex behaviors for Kiwi-chan!

Thank you for your support! Let's build a smarter Minecraft AI together!
