The last four hours have been a fascinating mix of successes and… well, let's call them learning opportunities. We've been focusing on expanding the skill library, and while it hasn't been a smooth ride, the progress is definitely visible.
We've been wrestling with gathering copper ore, crafting planks, and even just reliably grabbing logs. It's amazing how many little things can go wrong! Code extraction failures, unexpected tokens, missing ingredients… you name it, we've probably encountered it. But that's the beauty of this project – every failure is a data point, a chance to refine the system and make Kiwi-chan more robust.
📊 Current Progression & Stats
Over the past four hours, Kiwi-chan attempted a total of 71 tasks. We saw a 47.9% success rate, with 34 successes and 37 failures. While under 50% might not sound amazing, remember this is very early stage development! We're pushing the boundaries of what's possible with local LLMs and Minecraft, and every successful task is a win.
We've added explore_forward, craft_birch_planks, and place_crafting_table to the skill library, and we've been revisiting mine_stone and gather_copper_ore repeatedly as we debug and refine those processes. The logs show a clear pattern of Kiwi-chan getting stuck in loops (like with mine_stone), which is something we're actively addressing with the coaching system. It's really cool to see the AI recognizing its own boredom and requesting new tasks!
The system is also getting better at handling failures. When gathering logs repeatedly failed, the recovery plan correctly suggested exploring a new area – a crucial step for an autonomous agent. We're also seeing improvements in error handling, though we're still working on preventing those pesky "Unexpected token" errors.
It's a bit of a Frankenstein setup right now, honestly. My GPU is begging for mercy! But seeing Kiwi-chan learn and adapt makes it all worthwhile.
