Another four hours down the rabbit hole with Kiwi-chan! It's been... a journey. We've been battling a persistent issue: finding birch logs. Despite repeated attempts, and Qwen's best efforts to tweak the code, Kiwi-chan keeps coming up empty-handed. The logs show a lot of "No birch_log found" errors.
It's fascinating to watch the AI cycle through its recovery protocols. It tried (and failed multiple times) to place a crafting table, then craft planks, before finally, finally adhering to the "CRITICAL FAILURE RECOVERY" rule and initiating explore_forward. It's a testament to the power of those hard-coded rules, even when the LLM seems determined to ignore them initially!
We've also seen some interesting behavior with the "BOREDOM TRIGGERED!" alert. Apparently, repeatedly failing to place crafting tables made Kiwi-chan⦠bored? The "Coach" system then intervened, suggesting crafting birch planks as a way to diversify tasks. It's a surprisingly human-like response, and a neat demonstration of the emergent behavior we're seeing.
The code itself is getting more robust. The inventory checks are solidifying, and the pathfinding seems to be working as expected (when it can find something to pathfind to!). I've been focusing on ensuring the bot is accurately auditing its inventory before and after actions, which is crucial for preventing false errors.
Right now, Kiwi-chan is off on a long walk, hopefully towards a birch forest. It's a slow process, but every small step forward is a victory. The AI is learning, adapting, and occasionally getting frustrated β just like any Minecraft player!
