Well, the challenge is over. I went seven days and wrote an article a day. Let's break down the process and look at some stats:
Let's look at the first stat "Favorite Article". I have selected "Day 04: Discussing my interview process" I selected this as my favorite article because it was probably the most fun article I wrote. I really poured my heart and soul into it.
Next we have "Least Favorite Article" and for that I have chosen "Day 01: Miniature Backstory" I chose this one because it was the first article and I really didn't have a topic so I kind of just did the best I could. I feel like it my weakest article.
Next we have out "count" stats. Basically I tried to track my metrics through this process. It would be nice to use this as a base point and try this again later and see if my numbers and overall writing improves.
Average Word Count: 762 words: This was the average words for the week. I'm not really sure how to feel about this. I feel like that is pretty low. But, in hindsight, it kind of makes sense. I was struggling with my articles for a while before I got in the groove. Definitely would like to see if I could improve upon this in the future.
Total Word Count: 5,344 words: Total word count for every article (minus the intro post). I was pleasantly surprised by this. I wasn't expecting that honestly. There for a while, I felt like I couldn't get a groove going. Certain topics were harder to write about than I would originally think. With the time restraints I had about trying to post by no later than midnight, I wound up not having enough time to pick another topic and then I just had to wing it. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. But, I don't want to get to crazy into things. I did a full breakdown of my feelings on the project, what I learned, and how I thought the project was going. You can find that article here
Longest Article: 1,520 words: Again, going back to my "Day 04: Discussing my interview process" This project was a lot of fun and once I started writing, everything just started to flow.
Shortest Article: 417 words: "Day 02: mark_down.md" was my shortest article coming in at 417 words. I think I was still getting into the swing of things and struggling to come up with topics. It is definitely an article I would do over when my writing and markdown skills improve.
Conclusion:
This challenge was a lot of fun. It made me think outside the box and step out of my comfort zone a little bit. Like I said above, some of these articles I would love to go back and revisit at a later date. Thank you so much for reading and have a wonderful night!
