I have started learning programming 3 - 4 years back and mostly basic assignments solved pattern problems learned about DSA concepts and then learned about wordpress , started building simple front-end website , then learned about python and django framework and built some cool projects .
Along the way , there wasn't much a need to actually manually understand , server and client to build projects , I simply needed to learn about concept of server and clients and in django there is a pre-built robust local server that we can use for development and there already lots of tool like nginx for reverse proxy and build in asgi server that works well even with simple setup , so i never had much need to learn it from scratch to fullfill my need. By learning about django frame Model View Template architecture and and basic flow , I could create proper APIs , implement premission based access and authentication and authorization. With this I was able to ship my academic projects and call my backend developer to some extend.
Along the way in LinkedIn and in different developer communities and daily reels and YouTube , lots of time when it was about back-end development , I could hear different terms , like architecture design, JWT-token authentication , rate limiting , scalability ,server-side validation , client side validation , application level implmentation, server level implementation, but it wouldn't make proper sense to me. I was shocked to some extend and had thought , i think maybe these would be advanced topic that i would know as i work and advance but as the AI was introduced , everthing spiraled and this topics and their understand of it become more normalized and I even had a temptation of now switching to learn about ML but then i calculated , and thought if there is a way to advance on my current field and get better and adapt to this new rise of AI , why switch to completely different domain. So i went deep down and started learning back-end development from the rawest form and now I created my first single thread one connection serving server using python socket module and served and connection request from single threaded client.
I learned about socket programming from Real Python and this is my first blog about this journey, if you feedback and suggestion regarding anything on my writing , it is highly appreciated.
