Turning a handmade art doll into a character that lives in a 3D world

Most collectors meet a handmade art doll once: you unbox it, you put it on a shelf, and that is where the story ends.

We wanted the story to keep going. So we built a small browser world where the doll you already own becomes a character you can walk around with.

How it works

  1. The artist photographs the finished doll (the same photos that go on the product page).
  2. We rebuild it as a 3D figure - same silhouette, same colours, same outfit.
  3. That figure becomes a resident of a shared, free-to-play world: gardens, a town square, an artists' gallery, small animals, and other collectors.

Nothing about the physical piece changes. It stays a one-of-a-kind handmade object. The 3D version is simply a second life for it.

Why bother

  • You can visit a piece that lives on the other side of the world.
  • Artists get a permanent, walkable catalogue instead of a flat gallery page.
  • Collectors can meet each other in the same space instead of only in comment threads.

Try it (free, in the browser, no download)

It runs on desktop and mobile. If you only want to look at the handmade pieces themselves, the shop is here: https://like-art.com/

I am curious about one thing: if you collect dolls or art toys, would you rather see your piece rendered exactly as it is, or slightly stylised so it fits the world's art direction? We have been going back and forth on that.
