I was sent a coding test on a Friday, and I said I would do it over the weekend (instead of resting and being with my family) because I was too busy at work to do it at any other time. I did the test and sent it next Monday. 5 days later, I had no answer from the company. I asked and the recruiter told me that "the guys were super busy" and that they'd review it ASAP. So I told him it wasn't necessary. Lack of respect for my own time is a red flag.
It's bad enough that I have to prove myself every time I change jobs after 20 freaking years. But that they dismiss my extra effort, me giving up my rest and playing with my kids, that something I can't forgive.
