The main thing with vim is that it's scientifically proven that touching the mouse is less efficient. That's all there is to it and when using an IDE there will be times you will have to touch it.
So rant away, clutch your beloved mouse. I'd rather save some time and slow RSI using an efficient editor.
Btw you seem to think vim has no code completion or other IDE features - you couldn't be more wrong about that. It's not the IDE that's the problem, it's the GUI that occupies your right hand.
