Hey everyone! 👋
I'm Mantu from India, and I'm just getting started with open source. Recently, I decided to begin preparing for Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2027, and honestly, I'm both excited and a little nervous.
I've always been interested in technology and building things, but open source is still a new world for me. There are so many amazing projects and communities out there, and I want to learn how to contribute meaningfully while improving my skills along the way.
My goal over the next few months is simple: learn consistently, contribute to projects, and grow as a developer.
I'll be focusing on:
- Learning Git and GitHub properly.
- Understanding how open-source communities work.
- Making my first contributions.
- Improving my coding and problem-solving skills.
- Documenting my progress and sharing what I learn.
I know this journey won't be easy, and there will definitely be moments when I feel stuck or overwhelmed. But I'm excited to learn from the community and keep moving forward one step at a time.
If you've been through the GSoC journey or have experience with open source, I'd love to hear your advice. Any tips, resources, or beginner-friendly project suggestions would mean a lot.
This is just the beginning, and I'm looking forward to learning, building, and contributing with all of you.
Thanks for reading, and here's to an exciting journey ahead! 🚀
